IN THE NAME OF GOD, MOST GRACIOUS, EVER MERCIFUL

Possible Pedophilia in the Hereafter?

Question

In the 52nd chapter of the Quran (Sura At-Tur) it seems that paradise is being described and a verse shocked me, could you tell me the meaning of this verse?

Round about them will serve, (devoted) to them. Youths (handsome) as Pearls well-guarded. (Quran 52:24)

Also, in the 76th chapter (Al-Insan) of the Quran, I found a similar verse, but more shocking:

And round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness): If thou seest them, thou wouldst think them scattered pearls. (Quran 76:19)

I hope you are aware of what I'm talking about (possible pedophilia in Quran), I'm really worried.

Response

These verses are talking about servants who will be serving the owners of Paradise. Even in this world, one wants their servant to be young and active. Above that, Quran is just referring to the fact that they will also be good looking such that one will be pleased to see them serve.

I do not think there is an sexual connotation to it, and any that is induced is perhaps the impression of the person who reads it, or interpretation of the person who reads it. If you read the verses in context keeping the explanation I have mentioned above in mind, I believe there shall be no confusion about the meaning. For instance:

And because they were patient and constant, He will reward them with a Garden and (garments of) silk. Reclining in the (Garden) on raised thrones, they will see there neither the sun's (excessive heat) nor (the moon's) excessive cold. And the shades of the (Garden) will come low over them, and the bunches (of fruit), there, will hang low in humility. And amongst them will be passed round vessels of silver and goblets of crystal,- Crystal-clear, made of silver: they will determine the measure thereof (according to their wishes). And they will be given to drink there of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Zanjabil,- A fountain there, called Salsabil. And round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness): If thou seest them, thou wouldst think them scattered Pearls. And when thou lookest, it is there thou wilt see a Bliss and a Realm Magnificent. Upon them will be green Garments of fine silk and heavy brocade, and they will be adorned with Bracelets of silver; and their Lord will give to them to drink of a Wine Pure and Holy." (Quran 76:12-21)
